La Mouette is a very well presented narrowboat built in 1989 by well known boatbuilder Mike Haywood. Recently repainted and overhauled internally, she is ready to cruise straight away. A recent survey is available for viewing, confirming the hull is in very good condition and providing additional peace of mind for prospective buyers.
Bedroom,
Located at the stern of the boat, the bedroom is a bright and welcoming with plenty of natural light. A comfortable fixed double bed sits to port and benefits from practical storage beneath in the form of three drawers. At the stern is a full-height cupboard with shelving in the upper section and the calorifier neatly housed below. Behind this sits a half-height cupboard containing the boat’s fuse panel and 240v trip switches.
Further storage is provided by a slim wall-mounted cupboard at the foot of the bed, three shelves above the head of the bed, and a clever slimline shelving unit that sits neatly within the gunwale space beside the bed.
Bathroom,
Situated forward of the bedroom on the port side, the bathroom is practical space. It features a hip height bath with tiled surround and shower mixer, a vanity unit with inset basin, and a Porta Potti toilet. Above, a combination of double and single wall cabinets provide useful storage for toiletries and essentials.
Galley,
Moving forward, the galley offers a practical L-shaped layout to port, complemented by additional worktop space, cupboards, and a washing machine opposite.
The galley includes a run of cupboards topped with laminate work surfaces and an inset stainless-steel sink. Cooking facilities are provided by a freestanding Indesit LPG double oven with four-burner hob, positioned on the reverse side of the bathroom bulkhead. A 240v fridge freezer is located in the adjoining saloon area.
Saloon,
Located at the bow, the saloon provides a cosy and versatile living space. The focal point of the room is the solid fuel stove, which is fitted with a back boiler supplying heat to the radiators and hot water tank. The stove also features a top plate, perfect for heating water or cooking. A corner unit with a small cupboard offers additional storage, while the open layout provides plenty of room for a sofa bed or freestanding seating, allowing the space to be arranged to suit your lifestyle.
Exterior,
Externally, the boat is presented in very good order. The current owner has repainted the vessel using marine grade paints and professional guidance, resulting in a smart and well-maintained appearance. The open bow area includes two seats, a gas locker, and a useful storage locker, creating an enjoyable outdoor seating space. At the stern, a pram hood has been adapted to fit the boat, providing excellent protection from the elements while cruising or moored. Two storage lockers at the stern offer both additional seating and practical storage.
