Built in 2001 by Mitchell Narrowboats, Gilead presents an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for a boat they can truly make their own. The accommodation is spacious, bright, and well laid out, making her a practical and comfortable vessel for both leisure and extended cruising.
Bedroom,
Accessed from the stern, you first enter a utility area that houses the washing machine. The bedroom features a double bed to starboard with underside storage and a shelf above. Two double door wardrobes at the stern provide ample and well designed storage space. At the foot of the bed is a compact corner desk.
Bathroom,
Moving forward, you enter the walkthrough bathroom, which makes excellent use of the available space. To starboard is a midi bath fitted with a showerhead and mixer taps. Opposite, to port, is a vanity unit with an inset ceramic sink and a wall mounted storage cabinet above. A centrally positioned Thetford cassette toilet completes the room.
Galley,
Continuing forward, the galley is arranged in a practical U-shaped layout on the port side. The worktop incorporates a Vanette four-burner hob and a composite sink. Beneath the worktops are a 12V Shoreline fridge, a Vanette oven and grill, and additional storage units. Two slimline wall cupboards provide further storage. Opposite, beneath the side doors and hatch, is a run of slim floor units. Fold out steps are neatly within the central cupboard, providing easy access through the side hatch.
Saloon,
Located at the bow, the saloon is currently an open space with minimal built in furniture, offering flexibility to arrange it to suit your needs. It is spacious enough to accommodate a large sofa or sofa bed, a dinette, or freestanding swivel chairs. A solid fuel stove and corner shelving unit are positioned at the forward end of the saloon. Stable doors lead out onto the front deck.
Exterior,
The front deck is open, making it ideal for storage or outdoor dining. The stern features a semi-traditional design and is uncovered. This layout creates a sociable outdoor space, with integrated seating and lockers, while keeping the cruising position clear.
Paintwork, The roof shows signs of wear, with some areas of peeling paint. The cabin sides are in fair condition. The bow and stern decks require attention, as areas of surface rust are present and would benefit from preparation and repainting.
