Buying Process
the search
Find our boats online, in magazines or advertised on site. Ask us for more information on the boats that interest you then visit us and the boat. We are open 6 days a week.
Now you have found the right boat and you want to make an offer. We will always advise your offer is subject to a satisfactory survey and test drive as none of the boats are sold with a warranty or guarantee. Once we reach a price that all parties are happy with we will take a 6% + vat deposit to hold the boat and ensure no other viewings or offers can be made on the boat.

survey
As we have a slipway on site we can offer survey docking at short notice usually within 4 days. You are responsible for booking a surveyor and the slipway as it is essential the survey is impartial. The buyer is also responsible for the dock costs and will pay the surveyor directly. We will assist you along the way as needed. We do always advise an independent survey. We will also arrange to take you out for an assissted test drive.
Once the test drive and survey have been completed you are now in a position to make an informed decision and update your initial offer. If issues are found during the survey we will liaise the vendor to discuss the issues raised further. We are able to provide you with estimates for repairs and are happy for you to source your own independantly.

payment
With all parties in agreeance the next step is to make payment for the boat. Once payment has been received you will be given a bill of sale along with the keys and documents. We offer free mooring for week to get yourself settled in and allows us time to go through the boat with you so when you hit the canal you are confident.
Now you have a boat, to get out on the water you will need a boat safety (boats are usually sold with a valid certificate), insurance and a waterways license. We are able to assist you with obtaining all of these and in most cases it takes around an hour or two to organise.
