Built in 1988 by Colecraft Boats, Marquis is a beautifully presented narrowboat that has been used as a continuous cruiser by the current owner.

Boatman's Cabin,
Located at the stern, the traditional Boatman's cabin is finished in classic style, featuring decorative scumbled woodwork and traditional Roses & Castles artwork. To starboard is fixed seating with useful storage beneath, while to port there is a drop-down bed and table arrangement with additional overhead storage. Bedding is neatly stowed within the folding bed section. At the stern sits a traditional stove with hotplate. Although no longer in use and retained for decorative purposes, it adds to the rooms character.

Engine Room,
Moving forward, you enter the centrepiece of Marquis, the impressive Russell Newbery DM2 engine. Offset slightly to port, the engine allows easy passage through the engine room while maintaining access for maintenance. Two large side doors with roof hatches and a roof light provide plenty of natural light and ventilation. To port are the washing machine, inverter, storage cupboard and shelving, while the electrical cupboard is located to starboard.

Bathroom,
Forward of the engine room and offset to port, the bathroom is a practical space, the tiled walls create a bright and clean finish. The midi bath features a mixer tap with shower attachment above and a folding glass shower screen fixed to the wall. Opposite is a vanity unit with countertop wash basin and a Thetford Porta Potti cassette toilet.

Galley,
The galley is a bright and well appointed space offering generous work surfaces and good storage. To port is a long tiled worktop a sink and drainer, with four cupboards and a 12V fridge below. A freestanding cooker is positioned centrally within the galley. To starboard, a floor unit provides additional storage and drawers beneath a tiled worktop, while a glazed wall mounted cupboard offers further storage above. Slimline low level cupboards continue along the wall towards the saloon. An opening roof hatch floods the space with natural light and provides excellent ventilation.

Saloon,
Located at the bow, the saloon is a welcoming and comfortable living space. Built in L-shaped seating, complete with storage beneath, converts into a double berth while also providing a pleasant dining area. Opposite are low level shelves, with the dining table conveniently stowed on its edge when not in use. Towards the bow stands a Boatman solid fuel stove set on a tiled hearth, with a run of built in floor units opposite. A step leads out onto the foredeck.

Exterior,
The covered foredeck is larger than average, creating an ideal outdoor space for dining and socialising, complemented by a folding table. Full length steel lockers run along both sides, providing valuable storage as well as additional seating. The stern deck retains a traditional design.

The paintwork remains in good overall condition. While some of the original paint has naturally faded with age, areas have been repainted and importantly, there are no significant areas of rust.
